Across the UK we have a network of public transport options that offer an alternative to driving for people who do not wish to do so. The public transport network consists of buses, trains, trams and an network of underground trains in London commonly referred to as the Tube.
The UK’s public transport system is envied across Europe where such extensive options are not always available, depending upon which country you are in.
The government in the UK actively encourage travellers to commute using our public transport system in an attempt to take advantage of the systems available and also reduce their carbon footprint.
There are plans across some of the major cities to increase the tram routes that are available to further decrease the need for people to drive to work and reduce traffic congestion on the busier road networks.
